Call for Nominations: Ron Smith Award and 2014 Triathlon Highlights of the Year

TBI is recognizing people and events that have made a difference in the sport of triathlon. The Ron Smith Award winner and the top five highlights for 2014 will be honored at the 2015 Annual TBI Conference, January 25-27, 2015 in Marina del Rey, CA. Nominations due Dec. 24.

Three New Speakers Round-out the TBI Conference Keynote List

Three new speakers have been added to the lineup of keynote speakers for the Jan. 25-27, 2015, 5th Annual Triathlon Business International Conference in Marina del Rey, CA: Gary Roethenbaugh, founder of Multisport Research; Christian Toetzke, CEO, Lagardère Unlimited Events; and Matthew Le Veque, Sr. Vice President, Rogers|Finn Partners and associate professor at USC’s Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism.

Nominations Open for Best Triathlon Article and Photo of the Year; Ron Smith Award

TBI today announced it is taking submissions for the best published triathlon article and photo of the year, and the Ron Smith Award recognizing a man or woman who best demonstrates a combination of strong moral character and professionalism in the sport of triathlon and as an individual.

Nominations Open for “Triathletes Choice” Awards and 2014 Highlights of the Year

Triathlon Business International is scouring the world looking for triathlon events that are the “Triathletes Choice” for best-of races in six categories, as well as the top five highlights of 2014 in the sport of triathlon.

Challenge Family CEO Felix Walchsöffer and Universal Sports President Scott Brown Open 2015 TBI Conference

The opening keynote address on Sunday afternoon of the 2015 TBI conference will be an in-depth interview by Slowtwitch Editor Dan Empfield of Felix Walchsöffer, CEO of the Challenge Family of events. Monday morning will open with a keynote by Scott Brown, president of Universal Sports Network, broadcast rights owner of the ITU World Triathlon Series.

TBI’s Triathlon Pavilion Consumes 25,000 sq.ft. at 2014 Interbike

The Triathlon Pavilion footprint at Interbike for 2014 expanded to 25,000 sf – up 15,000 sf over the past two years – and it will be packed with two days of workshops; a “Pinot & Pints” reception on Wednesday evening sponsored by De Soto Sport; a Thursday morning Jet Fuel Coffee Station sponsored by Ashworth Awards; a special announcement by IRONMAN CEO Andrew Messick on Wednesday at 12 noon; plus the opportunity for discounted registration for the 2015 Triathlon International Conference in Marina del Rey in January.
