TBI Global Partner Ashworth Awards was part of a recent Wall Street Journal story about the role finisher medals play in a participant choosing a race. On average, race organizers pay about $3 each for them from Ashworth Awards, says Daniel Ashworth, president of the Massachusetts company, which furnishes medals to the Boston Marathon and other races. Since the 1990s, Mr. Ashworth said, demand for his company’s medals has increased to about 300,000 a month from about 50,000.
