Founder & CEO, TriSports.com
Seton Claggett is the founder and CEO of TriSports.com, one of the world’s premier triathlon stores. He founded the company with his wife, Debbie, in 1999 while attending the University of Arizona where he earned a BS and MS in Hydrology as well as a degree in Entrepreneurship. Mr. Claggett has been active in the multisport and triathlon industry since 1987, racing in hundreds of races including the Ironman World Championships.
Other activities include helping establish TriSports Racing, a 501(c)3 non-profit that produces the Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival benefitting several charitable organizations including the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Mr. Claggett also helped establish TRIFEST, one of the industry’s first race-independent industry expo, conference and industry dinner as well as working locally with the City of Tucson to officially make Tucson the Winter Training Capital for endurance athletes. Mr. Claggett is currently an Entrepreneurial Fellow at the University of Arizona and has been featured in several magazines including Triathlete and Entrepreneur.
TriSports.com was founded in 1999 by Seton and Debbie Claggett. Over the last decade, TriSports.com has sold to customers in all 50 states and over 90 countries, spanning all 7 continents. What has really distinguished TriSports.com from the competitors that have sprung up through the years is the focus TriSports.com puts on customer service and their commitment to the sport. Online shopping is faceless and nameless, but the entire TriSports.com team strives to get to know their customers on a personal level and deliver service that is unparalleled in today’s marketplace.
TriSports.com, however, is much more than a store. True to its core values, TriSports.com has helped advance the sport in the form of athlete, club and race sponsorship, as well as focusing on sustainability with its suppliers, partners and the environment. Installed in late 2010, the TriSports.com facility houses one of largest rainwater harvesting systems in the United States and incorporates many more sustainable practices into daily activities, including their Green Box program, use of natural lighting in workspaces, and many more.
TriSports.com has received numerous awards over the years including Arizona’s Top 50 Companies to Watch, the Wells Fargo Copper Cactus Business Growth award, and has been named as one of Outside Magazines Best 50 Companies to work for in the United States for 2009 and 2010.
